STEP ONE: Sketch your design. Let your imagination run free! Grab a napkin at your favorite watering hole and get to work. If you can't draw we offer a wide range of artwork for you to choose from. If we don't have what you are looking for we can create it for you. Design prices are $50/hour and the time varies depending on the complexity of the illustration.
STEP TWO: Vectorize your design. Scan what you drew in step one and vectorize your design using a program like Adobe Illustrator. While you technically don't have to use Illustrator we have found the best results come from black and white vector artwork. Don't know how to use Illustrator? We can do it for you. We offer design and prepress for your original artwork, so we can help you get your image just right.
STEP THREE: Etch your design. Bring us your file and the item you want etched and we'll take it from there. You need to contact us to setup an appointment. Depending on the complexity of the work a typical session will take about one hour.
The Etching Technology
We use an Epilog Helix 45-watt laser system. The laser works like a medium format printer, so we can engrave illustrations, logos, text, and even photos.
The laser can etch glass, coated metals, ceramic, marble, anodized aluminum, stainless steel, painted metals, tiles, wood, plastic, acrylic, delrin, cloth, leather, matte board, melamine, paper, mylar, pressboard, rubber, wood veneer, fiberglass, cork, corian.
